Description

Infrared Flame Detection with Relay Output

This Flame Sensor Relay Module detects flame radiation within the 760nm-1100nm wavelength range.

When the detected flame intensity exceeds the adjustable threshold, the onboard relay will activate and switch the connected load automatically.

The integrated relay output eliminates the need for an additional relay module, making it easier to build compact fire detection systems.

Relay Working Principle

The onboard relay works as an automatic switch:

When Flame Is Detected

The sensor detects flame intensity above the set threshold.

The relay switches ON:

  • COM connects to NO
  • External device is powered

Example:

Flame detected → Relay ON → Light / Fan / Alarm activated

When Flame Disappears

The detected infrared signal decreases below the threshold.

The relay switches OFF:

  • COM returns to NC

Example:

No flame → Relay OFF → External device stops

FAQ

Q1: What is a Flame Sensor Relay Module used for?

A Flame Sensor Relay Module is used to detect flame sources and automatically control external devices through a relay output. It is commonly used in DIY fire alarm projects and automation systems.

Q2: Can this module directly control a 220V device?

Yes. The relay contacts support up to 250VAC 10A or 30VDC 10A. However, high-voltage wiring should always be handled with proper safety precautions.

Q3: What is the difference between this module and a normal flame sensor?

A normal flame sensor only provides a signal output, while this Flame Sensor Relay Module includes a built-in relay that can directly switch external loads.

Q4: Does this sensor detect smoke?

No. This module detects infrared radiation from flames. It cannot detect smoke particles and should not replace certified fire alarm equipment.

Q5: Can it work with Arduino?

Yes. The module can be combined with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other controllers for fire detection and automation projects.
